Happened upon a cure for this general affliction:

buy a refill pack of what they put in domestic de-humidifiers to absorb the moisture ( I got some in a Homebase store).

flip out the rear lamp cover panels inside the boot

unclick the lampholder

take a teaspoon, or similar, and ladle four or five teaspoonfuls of the flakey white crystals (no, not those) through the hole into the interior of the lamp-glass.

replace the bits

after a few hours, all will be clear.

Damn, my left one has moisture inside after every rain. No way how to stop it. In service they took it apart and glued up back and sealed with some silicon, it is still there :-(

I had this problem in the right side tail light. I found that the two halfs of the plastic case were not sealed along the top of the lens.
The outer case wraps over the inner, along the top. Took the light out and sealed the joint, right along the top with silicon.

Did the job, has not leaked since. Can now wash the car in hot weather without sucking in a light full of water.

I have this kind of leaking too....

I'll think I try to seal them like Harvey did, and if needed maybe I'll put some white powder in there also :D
