If I didn't just buy my wife another car (got out of the Land Rover Disco at last!! after spending heaps on gearbox etc) this would be very interesting.
Then I would be unique again- 3 in family! I think I have a problem.

Need a bex and a good 'lay' down.

B.T.W. 2 new photos in locker. Regards, Mark.

So you think the last one sold...bugger....!!!! hey it was also Green ..I guess no prizes for having 3rd last sold ...well mines only got 52000kms !! and yes its only on its second set of tyres..

No I'm not buying any more ...I'm out at 2

....interesting that plates not a QLD plate because that plate was on the grey 93 model with 50000kms owned by the dealer principal for Subaru in Ipswich..now sold and disappeared..

$30+ is big money, but I hope the seller gets close to the price he wants, it will be good for all of us...

...."last seen fumbling with his internet connection..www...where was that site again...quick..!!....yes dear I'm coming i just need too check my emails...its very slow tonite !!!"...

 D2 in Oz:eek: ;)

That plate SVX-001 and SVX-OO2 were the plates that Subaru Australia used on their Executive cars.
My 95 car had the SVX-001 plate on it, when they owned it, they have been on a few cars.

Whats with the "1998" model, has he mistakingly put 1998 because he registered it 1998 or was there somehow a 98 built model.

Don't know, but would probably assume that it was first sold (compliance stamped?) 1998.

You would have to check the compliance plate to find out first hand also seat belts should be dated as to when the factory fitted them. You may find a bit of a difference between the two dates. Normal Subaru's here tend to have a lag of 2 or 3 months between the belts being fitted and the vehicles compliance stamp.

Do you think that there is a chance you could be checking this one out. The Vin Number could be useful.

Alright kids gather around...

Spoke to Lindsay the owner..lives in Melbourne, has owned the car for 18 months, spoke to him for 20 mins on the cars...

What it is..

Bright Green Mica - Build 6/96 !! wow !..Compliance plate 6/97 and first reg'd around April 98..would definitely be last one !! in Oz

Lindsay when looking to buy missed out buying the YELLOW one ..it had 70000kms at the time and sold for $38K ...but this Green one came up ..he's the 2nd owner...

Lovely chap knows of the Australian SVX club ? and he may have spoken to James .."an SVX nut in Sydney..."

Loves his car but is under the hammer from his wife to be rid of the slug !! Wants to get Liberty..

Buyers queue up...if he gets a buyer I hope he holds out for the best price because he does own a piece Subaru Aust/Wwide history.....a worthy invetsment !! [for us I guess]

He was astounded ..but understood why I have 2.!!

I can understand why you have 2, what I can't understand is how you got your wife to agree to them. I take my hat off to you. I think "James" will take his off twice.:D

Not only that, but why would you fit different (and larger) wheels?

The standard wheels look FANTASTIC! (and they will look even better on mine when I replace the centre caps!)

:D

yes quite strange that it is lowered. I might ring the owner of this and see how many km's he has driven up. To have the car lowered and shod with 18 inch rims suggests to me this guy could be a bit of a revhead and probably treated the car without care. No offense to those of you who are revheads, so am i. I'm a little scared to buy an SVX which has had its suspension tampered with, who knows what could happen, and how expensive it will be to repair.

As for the 98 model, which was built in 96............the fact that it was built in 96 should classify it as a 96 model shouldn't it. I mean if you go to a dealer they will say its a 96 model. Can anyone clarify that for me.

Don't be put off by car dealers gabble..they know the true answer is the Compliance date..of course build date will be earlier, and then it takes time to ship them to Oz..but all dealers will take the 'year' of the car as its compliance date stamp..

The 98 is a 96 build ..rare in OZ probably the only one as they were still getting rid of the 95 builds they had ordered and shipped here and were in holding yards in Perth and Adelaide before eventual distribution elsewhere.

But its compliance date is 97 and so for rego and insur and valuation its a 97...the sold or retail date as Subaru Oz describes is of little consequence ..other than ensuring that its rego month doesn't differ from the original month it was reg'd ...if it does eg say first reg'd in April 98....but now its rego anniversary is August...then why the difference...in a panel shop out of rego ?? awaiting parts then rereg'd ? or dealer has owned it; sat on a lot for too long ...cash in rego then when buyer comes along..."we'll put 6 months rego on it for you.. etc

Hope that helps
