Muffler Life

A difficult question with many variables (miles and type of driving), that said, what kind of life expectancy can hope (pray) for from the muffler ?

Little darling has 130K and is quiet with no loose baffles, but oh my, that $300 price tag and non off the shelf availabilty is no bueno.

The exhaust should out-last the car if it doesn't get physically damaged. It's very thick and stainless steel. The only problems you should ever have with the exhaust are with the cats and the resonator internals separating causing a rattle. I haven't heard of anyone having their muffler wear out yet.
