another red SVX is listed on the "autotrader site"...[my daughter found it on a search just listed..there's also a very low km one in Sydney listed] no kms are mentioned for the RED in WA but nice 18ns fitted...1995 model as well, did they capture the market on Red ones over there.!!!.

Incidently mine has arrived..is at Subaru today for service..I'll keep you informed as to whats happening next..buffing out window scratches, mag wheels, touch up paint, etc...
drives well, missing a bit from the dash and no alarm..so will be doing a Viper alarm... I am taking the std wheels off and will be selling them..if you know of anyone interested..the tyres are scruffy but the rims are all OK ..not perfect...but good, crap tyres come free..

The one you mention from NSW in the same mag is a temptress!

Subaru SVX 1993 Immaculate condition, 3.3L auto with manual switch, constant 4WD, burgundy, 2 door, 5 seater, 48600kms, leather interior, all power options, cruise/climate control, ABS, central locking, tinted, alarm, radio/CD/cassette, alloy wheels, 1 owner, regretful sale, SRU-225, $22500 negotiable

Anyone down South seen it.

Perhaps as "James" doesn't have a drive at the moment (sold SPV Camry) he may be tempted:D :D :D

Don't joke about that -- had entertained the thought but Cassie has threatened unspeakable acts against me if I so much as think about it!!

:(

Hmm........I wonder

hi guys and girls,

i saw the article for the very low km 93 svx yesterday and i will ring up today and find out about it. It doesn't mention log books to verify the incredibly low kms, but i will ask. It also says one owner which i hope is true. Nice colour though the burgundy, one of my favourites for the SVX. He lives in Kogarah which is a bit of a hike. He mentions regretful sale, can't wait to find out his reason for selling such a great car. Unfortunately i don't have 22k to give him so he will have to accept my poor offer.

Hi Baggio

Would be good if you could get there and take some pics and get the Vin.

If the owner thinks that your offer is too modest perhaps "James" may be persuaded to purchase it and then he can let you keep it in "storage" for him. (Cassie couldn't really complain as he wouldn't really have one, would he?)

Whatya say "James"?" Must stop D2 becoming D3:D :D :D

Hi Kenn,

Spoke to the owner last night and he does have log books to verify the kms and he seems pretty genuine, he sounded like he was in his 50's and of Indian decent. He also mentioned he owns a practice, so he must be in the medical field, which means he probably took good care of it. His reason for selling was because he had too many cars and his wife and daughters didn't want it, poor guy sounds like he was the only man in the house, the girls probably bombarded him. Sounds genuine but still impossible to know until you see it and check the VIN. He also mentioned no previous accidents and the car is immaculate, "you need to see it to believe it" he said. I did not make an offer as i have not seen it yet, but he did mention someone was coming to see it on the weekend, he could be bluffing in order for me to make a move, are any of you planning to see it this weekend. I spoke to my dad after i called him and he said it sounds good, i'm asked him if he could help me fund it, but he said he preferred me to buy a property instead. I'm at a crossroad at the moment. I might wait a week and see if he sells, if not then i will might make an offer. If anyone see's it let me know.

Baggio, for what it is worth and coming from someone who likes SVX's *cue laughing - I am obsessed!* I would put the money into property

You can always get a loan against the value of the equity in the property to buy an SVX but you can't do the same in reverse

If you have the chance to get a property in Sydney...TAKE IT!!!!

You can get your SVX 'fix' from the cruises...that's what I am going to do!:D

Baggio,

I would have to agree with "James" on the property v's SVX. Property will give you money, SVX will take it. Still can keep the dream going.

Could still be worth the trip out to see it, it will give you abenchmark for future reference.

The best bet would be for you to buy property and for "James" to buy the car and leave it with you for storage.

Lets know how you get on:D

:D Yep, I'll do that!!!

And catch trains and buses like I have to now and not use the SVX!!

;)

PS: anyone fancy a run down to Canberra to pay homage to the only 5 speed SVX in the country????

My dad went and saw the car on Friday afternoon and told me it was in good condition. He made him a low offer but the guy said he was waiting for someone to check it on the weekend. My dad has not called me today so i am assuming it was sold or the guy is waiting till a better offer comes. I have not seen the car but for now i am accepting my dads opinion.

Was that "other" person going to check the car out you James?\

You know what I hate?, You write a page and half of colourful post, all the while cross referencing info in multiple windows to get everything right and scaling photos to submit to the forum, When the damn computer decides to crash!!
OK, long story short....
Been on holidays in WA, chatted to Timbo (didn't realise Lupus was over there, sorry mate) made contact with (current) owner of solid red SVX, looked up ad on;
http://www.autotrader.com.au
and discovered two tone silver SVX for sale just up the road.
Trader ad, but neither his website nor the autotrader site show a picture, so went for a look and got the shot below.
Was closed, and is asking $13990, but with a few horror stories and by pointing out that the wheels are on backwards  someone could probably drive him down to around $10500 maybe?
Hey James, do you want a hack. :D

I had a look at that car too.....

Was for sale for ages beginning at $29,000 late last year - a fellow in Newtown was selling it, lived outdoors its whole life!!

Do you remember the fellow from Canberra who drove up to meet us on the last meet in Bowral? Well, he inspected it and had said that was pretty bad.

Eventually the car dropped to $16,500 and then disappeared - I suspect it went to the auctions or was wholesaled and now is at that dealers

The boot is soaking wet and smells....I suspect a bingle

I'd offer $8,000 tops

We need to get some sort of register of cars up and running - most of the other car clubs who specialise in niche vehicles have them and helps to keep track of dealers etc 'clocking' the odometer or more frequently, losing the service history!

Driving around Bankstown again and spotted a two tone silver SVX going past ahead and thought it was the one from the car yard on a test drive so I thought I'd just follow a while to see where it went.
Ended up pulling into a drive in Condell Park where I noticed the wheels were on the right way so realised it is one I spotted earlier, AKF-74W as mentioned in a previous post;
http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15401
Had a quick chat to the owner (it was starting to rain), an asian fellow in his sixties, he had bought it second hand some years back, and says it's a '92 model.
I thought the two tone colours didn't start till around '94?, although it doesn't have airbags.
Car looked to be in mint condition, I could barely hear it idling in his drive ;)
Gave him a card to here, so we'll see.
Arthur.
