Are the rear wheel bearings on front wheel drive svx the same as on the awd svx's? Do they need to be pressed in or are they as easy to replace as on all the other front wheel drive cars?

you may want to seriously consider letting a professional do your bearings. these cars are notorious for bearing failure. one thing to be very careful about is the grease the bearings come packed in. you do not under any circumstances want you use this grease. it should be cleaned off the bearings and they should be repacked in a synthetic grease. also make sure they do not over torque them. there are several things on the svx that are particularly sensitive. the transmission, bearings, alternator (electrical system), struts, cv joints, and brakes (warping). just be careful because the last thing you want to happen is that you replace them and then 10-20 thousand miles later you have to do it again. good luck.
