Took the TCU off this afternoon to give it a clean out. All went well, cleaned up a treat, went back in its place perfectly, went to put the plastic engine cover back on when PING.......one of the two clips shot out and disappeared down the back of the engine. "Bugger it," says I and crawl under the car to retrieve it.....nothing there. Got my torch out and had a damn good search around the general area.......nothing. God isn't there a bloody lot of pipework around these flat sixes? Anyway, cut a long story short, the clip is gone and I can't put my cover back on the engine.
The thought of a 70 mile round trip to my nearest Subaru dealer for a silly little plastic clip breaks my heart. So, best begging trousers on and get down on knees. I don't suppose any of my illustrious fellow forum members has a spare clip for the engine cover do they? Please, pretty please. (flutters eyelashes).
