It's a go SVXers! November 8th, 9:00 a.m. we'll meet at the International House of Pancakes on Halsted St., just south of U.S. 80. Address: 17228 S. Halsted St., Hazel Crest, IL. Do a yahoo map or mapquest and scale it to your liking to get there. (Size 4 is a good one.)

For those who can't resist IHOP's blueberry pancakes, we'll grab a little chow or just some joe for those who aren't hungry as we'll inevitably be getting there a few minutes apart from one another. Upon entering, tell them you're with the SVX group and hopefully they'll steer us towards the same table.

From there we have (2) cruising options:

1. The Long Route: Starved Rock State Park - 85 miles one-way to the west, approximately 2 hours to get there. Scenic ride, rural route ending up at the state park, which is really neat if you've never been there. Can take faster U.S. 80 (1 hr. 20 min.) route on the return to save on some time. Lunch after checking out the park.

2. The Short Route: Rural route close to where we're meeting at the IHOP. Mix of Indiana and Illinois rural roads. 50-75 mile loop with a few stops at nature preserves or something similar along the way. Lunch and story-swapping to follow.

We'll discuss the two routes when we meet. If the group desires, we could do a poker run also, where each driver gets a card when we stop for a total of five cards. $5 ante, winner take all.

We have between 5-8 SVXers who said they're coming, should be fun!

Dan, thanks for organizing this. I haven't been on a good drive since I moved here to IL. :)

I am pretty sure I can be there. I even have a place to stay in downtown Chicago. :D

I've just been informed by a member that our meeting place is no longer in business. The building is still there, but they're closed. Not a big deal but look for an alternative meeting place in the same area to be posted early next week after I look into it further.
