I'v finally made time to go get some new times with my 5 speed.
I'm going up for the Import wars show on Sept 27. If any of you N.E. SVXrs want to meet up and make some runs. It's $25 buck and last time I was their I got in like 7 runs befor the rains came. Anyway if you want to meet up plan no being their by 8:00 Am for registration, it would be nice to a few fellow SVXrs there this time.

Are you talking about the track in Epping NH (New England Dragway? I may be interested if you are.

Jay

P.S. please don't tell the girlfriend about my plans to race the SVX. :D

Actually Adam, the Navajo would qualify for the import challenge. You could run it in 4wd for better launching. (of the tranny).

Oh, yes Jay I'm talking about Epping. If you want to come you know when and where. Come and test out that new 5speed.

Good, maybe you can post some better times with the 5speed then i did with my burned ass clutch. I can barely drive the car is it is(well i can pussyfoot it but who likes to do that when its your second car) Im thinking you should get low 15's high 14's on the motor. I wasgetting a 15.4ish time with 2.4 second 60' with a burned clutch.(who knows how much up top) Let us all know and good luck!

I will definitlly post my times (unless they suck) just to prove the mighty wrath of the 5 speed. (unless I blow it up).

Freakmeister-

something i'd been meaning to tell you but forgot..

since i blew 3rd and 4th, i've been driving this beat-up '91 Navajo which is identical to a Ford Explorer Sport (2-door)

it does one thing really well which my SVX could NEVER do: clear obstacles! i've taken the damn thing ALL OVER the trails behind my house. i never knew how awesome it could be to only have to worry about the BIGGEST rocks on the trail.. i nearly flipped the ****er on its back on a steep uphill, too :D loving the 4x4 tranny :D

-adam

ps. i don't think my brother would approve of a dragstrip launch in his truck....

Yes, Ground clearance has it's advantages.

I wonder? Would your brother approve of you almost fliping it on it's back?:)

I didn't drive four hours but I did drive about 45 minutes just to find a very large sign that said "NO RACING TODAY." Don't they know that we have AWD??? Sheesh, the nerve of these people.

Seriously though, we'll have to plan this again for some other day/night. They do test and tune every wednesday and friday nights.

Yeah, sorry about that. I tried to talk one of the officials into just letting all the AWD drive cars run.......he didn't like my idea.

I know they have test and tune, and grudge nights but like I said it's a 2hr. drive for me to get there so I like to have the whole day to run. Plus if I acctually manage to run cosistetly I could win prizes. They have one more Import show on OCT. 25 That I'm gona try to make. I really what to know what this thing runs with the 5speed, so I'll post again when the time comes.

In the mean time are you comming to the Tri-state meet Strange?

It seems I know just when to poke my head in the forums after a long absense. I'll talk to my better half and see if we can go to the meet tomorrow. It's been a while since I've been to a meet so I'm hoping.
