I have a hopefully small problem with my transmission, any ideas or help appreciated.
Box was rebuilt last December, has done probably 10,000miles since, and was going its best ever. Lately started doing the 1-2 flare, so I feared the worst. However, feeling that mechanically the box is good, I recently replaced the TPS with a brand new one. This did not fix the problem.
As it gives a flare between 3-4 also, I am suspecting a loose brake band, and am taking it back to be adjusted. This may cure the problem. However, I am beginning to suspect the TCU could be at fault, so I ran the diagnostic. Current problems show nothing at all [quick blinking], but interestingly, previous problems show code 32, Speed sensor #1.
Anyone, particularly Harvey, have any idea if this sensor being faulty could lead to mistimed shifts, or false neutrals, which I suspect would wear the brake band as the soon-to-be-selected gear engaged?
Any opinions welcomed.
