It was asked, last night, if we would have a scheduled day and time to chat. SInce I don't know how to create a poll (I'm still learning, folks), I'll just ask, straight out, is there a day and time when we can "meet" on a regular basis? Realizing that not everyone will be there every time, but, at least give us an idea of when there will, at least, be someone in the room to chat with. Probably wouldn't hurt, either, when someone is in the mood, to post, in advance, "I'm going to be in the "room" tonight at 7," or something to that effect. Give us your feedback. "If you're chatty, they will come." NUGGETS AND BEER FOR EVERYONE1

My chat time would have to be after 10 pm any day, but preferrably on a Friday or Saturday night .

I agree that Friday or Saturday would be the best. But since those of us in the Eastern time zone are three hours ahead of Pacific time, there should be a window, rather than a fixed time. Something like "beginning at 10 EST"

Yeah, us "old farts" WOULD want to chat on Fri or Sat since we won't be "going out" like we used to :). Perhaps we should have a "General" night during the week and a "Seniors Night" on Fri or Sat. :) (BTW I used my AARP Card to get a discount on my room in Reading -- Ah, the advantages of having a spouse who's older than you :))

Uh, yeah, I SEEM to remember that. Now a big night out is dinner at the Vietnamese restaurant, and a visit to Home Depot to look at power tools and home furnishings. :D

Aredub, can you think of anything that might prevent the above info from being "leaked"?

hehehe ;)

Why did you use "your" ;-) AARP card? When I called to get the original rates at the Holiday Inn, the rate she gave me was better than if I had used MY AARP or AAA

Some of us kids wanna go "party" on the weekends.. so get yourselves up russle up the youngins and go see a movie.. If you can sit a babble bout taters nuggets scooters velvet and beer till 1am why not go interact with some real people?

(hehe)

ok but anyway, a couple chat nights would prolly be better for the masses as schedules do differ. thats my .02$

Bill,

STEP 1: Take off glasses.
STEP 2: Pull out shirt tail (unless it's not cotton, then, pull up a sufficient amount of underwear by grabbing the elastic strap)
STEP 3: Wipe Glasses
STEP 4: Tuck shirt tail (and/or underwear) back in.
STEP 5: Place glasses back on
STEP 6: Re-Read the post

HINT: Location is NOT in TN!

Moldy!?!?!? Careful about the age cracks there, buster. You're about to meet up with me in person. I'd hate to be the one who'd have to learn you a lesson 'bout respectin' one's elders. I know that I may sound like a cultured gentleman, but, every once in a while, the heavy dosage of Visine I use on the back of my neck, wears off. Then, look out! :D

OOPS! <aredub just pulled out sufficient amount of underwear to wipe glasses and places glasses back on face.>
OH, Bill, you WERE talking about Reading! Well, the "group" rate was 75.00 per night. Since I missed the "cut off" date, they priced me my room at 85.00 per night. With my AARP card, the rate went back to 75.00 per night.

BTW, Aredub - I see you are still just a "member". As a "senior member", I would be glad to impart my wisdom from time to time.
Remember to respect your elders!

Man! I still have fingerprints on my glasses! There really isn't enough material in those zebra striped things to make a good cleaning rag. :D

Friday and Saturday world probably be a good idea. I work rotating shifts so some days I wouldn't be able to make it. I'm really not gonna like that. Enjoyed last night.

WAIDAMINNUT!!!!! Senior Member!?!?!? How'd you do that? That does it, I ain't playin' any more. I'm takin' my marbles (if I can find 'em) and stomping off . . . back to Yahoo . . . where they don't degrade people by designating Juniors, Seniors and plain ol' "members." WHAAAAA, WHA, WHA, WHAAAAAAA! (I feel so used).

Aaahhh, ya lost yer marbles a long time ago. But for a small fee, I'll tell you how to change your designation. I'm thinking of elevating myself to "Grand Poobah" status, personally.

As you can see, this gross oversight has been corrected. Our "quick to respond" admin team took care of it immediately, once it was discovered. Thanks to Chris (and the academy) for his lightning fast reflexes in taking care of the problem (not to mention NOBODY wants to hear me cry!)

Here's an Idea. If someone has a hankerin' to chat, post it on the club calender, in advance. Then, those who can , can join you on that date and time. Yes? No? Maybe?

Sounds like a good idea. Now I gotta figure out the calendar. It's still better than yahoo.

Pretty simple. Just click on calender, then, there's a "private event" button at the top. Just fill in the "private event" info and voila! It shows up. NOW, we'll all have to get in the habit of checking the calendar (and then, we'll know who's birthday is coming up :))
