Nothing special, just a lunch or something on a saturday, the ideas so far had been Ponzio's or Olga's Diners. They are both very close to each other, so it doesnt really matter. Although Ponzio's is right down the road from SOA, we could invade :D

I was thinking this weekend or next, I know there are a few parties very close by that would like to attend.

I will try to get in touch with Marlene, but if any of you have her phone number, that would be easier, I think I have it, but I am not sure.

So, we have Cherry Hill (mhl0125, Marlene), Marlton (Me), Haddon Heights (wynndi), and Philly (StaceyVX). As possibles a this point.

I know that Marlene has a pretty intensive schedule, so I think we should see when she is available before we pick a date, as I know she would love to attend.

So speak up people!!

I live about 30 min from Olgas. I am on Rt 70 at Country Lakes.
Give me a time and day everyone is going to meet and I will see if it conflicts with work, motorcycle rides, or my vacation to Myrtle Beech Bike week (May 10-18)

Cheers,
Adam

I want to go if I can find out early enough when it will be. Before I take it to this mechanic that claims what is wrong, I was hoping someone could check out my car and see what these noises are about.

Looks like the weekend of the 10th/11th is the most popular choice. Have we settled on a time/place?

I have a concert (4th one this month) to go to the eve of the 10th, but otherwise I'm free.

StaceyVX
05-01-2003, 07:46 AM
I know I'm only one person, but please don't have it on the 11th. That's Mother's Day and I know my boyfriend and myself wouldn't be able to come. :(

OK, untill I can get with Marlene, lets call it the 10th, any issues? Mothers Day would not be a good choice.

There is a Cavalier meet at Maple Grove Raceway on Sat and Sun. Some guys from the WRX Forum are going up to show up the Cavalier owners at the track on Saturday. Soooo... Saturday, I'm going there in the SVX to hang out with the Subaru guys, and Sunday I'm taking my Cavalier to hang out with the Cavalier guys. :D

I can bring my OBD scanner (with C/E reset) if anyone else is driving a 96~97.

To locate Cherry Hill, go to www.mapquest.com

Cherry Hill is 5 minutes from 295 and NJ Turnpike!

Ponzio's diner is about 2 miles west of Subaru of America headqurters on rte 70 in Cherry Hill , NJ.

Where is Howell NJ ? What exit of the NJ Turnpike is it close to ?

Take 537 west to 541 (Mount Holly Bypass) Turn Left on 541.

When you get to Route 38 make a right (not even a half a mile on 541).

Stay on 38 till you see a sign for Garden State Park (several miles), take that exit (Haddonfield Rd, but I dont think it says that on the sign).

Go straight for about 2 miles. When you get to 70, hang a left (At Chili's) and Ponzio's will be on your right about 2 miles or so... maybe more, I cant remember.

What time are we looking at? Does anybody have the address of the rest? I'm not familiar with the area all that much.

mhl0125
05-05-2003, 12:17 PM
Tim,
There is a faster way from Great Adventure. Go over to NJ Turnpike. I think you are Exit 7A. Anyway get off at Exit 7 and follow all of the signs to Rt. 295 South. take that to Exit 34B - Route 70. Take Route 70 West for about a mile. Ponzios is at Rt70 and Rt. 41. Can't miss it.

Benebob: Take PA turnpike to Exit 24 - Valley Forge. Go south on 676 (76) Schulkyl Expressway toward Phily. When you see the skyline stay in the left lane and take the Vine Street Expressway toward the Ben Franklin Bridge. Go over Bridge and follow road straight until you see signs for Rt 70. take Route 70 East for about 5 miles. Ponzios will be at your right where it meeets Route 41.

Chris: Does Ponzios know you want to use their lot. They could get upset. I would start at an off hour...either around 10:30 or after 1:30. I think it would be best to park in their lot on the side spaces closest to the building next door. This would be on the furthest west side (as you enter from Route 70...the furthest to your right in the lot).

Michael

I will give them a call and see if they mind or not. I suppose that as long as we ate there they wouldnt mind.

I wasnt planning on this growing so big, so it hadnt entered my mind to ask.

I suppose we need to get a fix on the time first.

10:30 AM on Saturday the 10th has my vote.

mhl0125
05-05-2003, 12:52 PM
Chris,
As long as we are eating there, I don't even know if it's worth risking asking them. After all, we are paying customers. I think if we park where I said, it would sort of be out of the way and wouldn't tie up their lot. If worse came to worse, we could all move across the street at that National Liquidation Warehouse. The lot is huge and it is mostly empty. 10:30-11:00 should be a good time to get there.

RSVX
05-05-2003, 12:58 PM
Very true, and youre right about the parking lot accross the street, that place is HUGE...

I think the plan was for lunch, so I will let it be for now.

benebob
05-05-2003, 01:36 PM
I'd second the 10:30ish time.

Thanks for directions. I'm right at home until I cross the Ben F. then its a completely different world. Must remember to get gas before crossing to NJ. The whole full service thing frightens me.:D

RSVX
05-05-2003, 02:50 PM
oddly enough bob, if you get gas in philly, you will be paying a good 10 cents more per gallon than when you immediately cross the bridge, and it drops more the farther you get from philly.

LarryIII
05-05-2003, 03:29 PM
Rosie & I will be there at 10:30. Ah brunch.

RSVX
05-08-2003, 05:03 AM
I would say that 15 minutes is an overestimate, and thats from the Ben Franklin Bridge... Just take that bridge and follow the signs for 70. After you pass Subaru of America and Cherry Hill Subaru, Ponzios about a mile or 3 on your right.

Tim
05-08-2003, 02:08 PM

Stacy,
You are in the NE. Just take the Tacony Bridge, follow 73 South to Route 41. Take 41 South to Route 70 and you will see it right in front of you. 20 minutes.

mhl0125

I am away on business ut should be back lzzte tonight. From what I hear from the weather forecast, perhaps we should pick a rain date and also if it is better for some people, maybe we shoud be a little later...11:30 or 1:00. Just a late thought.

I wish that we could accomodate everyone, but that isnt possible. Most seem to be able to make the 10:30AM meet time. Larry and I will be there @ around 10:30ish for brunch and there is nothing saying that you cant show up at noon if thats whats best for you. I am sure we will all still be there. If not, well thats what cell phones are for :) 856.979.6328 I am sure we can get you there. :p

Also, I just looked at the weather forecast, the hourly forecast and it is a 20% chance of rain and partly cloudy till about 7PM Sat evening, then it jumps to 40% chance of T-Storms, I think we will be ok.

As for the Tacony Bridge, yeah thats easier if you are in the NE, I work in the NE and take that route everyday. I am an idiot, lol my previous said to take Haddonfield Rd, it would get you there, but just follow Mikes Directions...

I'd love to come, but I'll actually be racing my SVX at a BMW Track Day down at Summit Point West Virginia.

You guys should come down and see an SVX in action on the track when you are done. My guess is that it's not all that far from the meet (maybe 2 hrs?).

Thank you Chris (RSVX, The Ponz) & Becca,

We had a great time at the first annual South Jersey SVX Meet.

Once again, great cars, wonderful people, and good food make for a terrific time.

It is always delightful to meet new SVXers, especially future SVXers who think the red ones are Ferraris.

Looks like I missed a good time in NJ.

Unfortunately, or fortunately for my car, I had other SVX business to do......a parts run.

The 100s of questions from a new owner will have to wait until the next meet.....
