Hi Chris

Hairline crack eh? That's a new variety.:D :D

Regards a temporary remedy, I had a radiator problem with my Matra Murena. Worse than hairline, the whole filler neck had blown off at some stage before I got the car. I used Araldite. It worked really well. I would be surprised if it did not effect a permanent fix for you, if you follow instructions for preparing the surface. The rad is not under a lot of pressure, and the Araldite epoxy works because it can handle the heat, plus it does not harden solid, but remains rubbery flexy, which handles the stresses as well.

Give that a go first.

I bought a second hand tranny from Simpson Bros York. It was from a crashed yellow car. The rad was probably OK. If you want to check with them the number is 01759-372728. The guy I dealt with was John Holloway, one of nature's gentlemen.

Best of luck

Joe

PS My wife does not understand me and my SVX either.;) :D

"Well I am now at the point where I have to choose between giving messers fuji £570 +vat of mr Browns best or go the plastic welding route, guess what one I am going to try!
The gap is now too big for areldite and the two pack sealers do not expand and contract with the rad and eventuly lift of when water gets under it. I will post a note to tell of my progress.
